Hydrostatic Pressure
This study is concerned with the balance of forces acting on the internal surfaces of a water tank. In the analysis, liquid water is assumed to be at rest and at room temperature, exerting a hydrostatic pressure force on the internal surfaces of the tank. In general, in a fluid at rest the pressure varies according to the depth, as seen on both figures below.
